Graduate Placement

Most graduates of our PhD programs seek academic employment. To support our students on the academic job market, we organize professional development workshops, review application materials, and organize practice interviews, teching demonstrations, and research presentations.  The department also supports students who are interested in non-academic careers – including jobs in higher education administration and the private sector – and we organize workshops and information sessions with former students to enable our students to learn more about their non-academic career possibilities.

Other WashU resources for job seekers include the Career Center, the Liberman Graduate Center's professional development events, the Teaching Center's events for graduate students, Diverse Careers for PhDs, and ImaginePhD.
