The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Helen Stenner Memorial Essay Competition:

The winner of this year's undergraduate award is:
Michael Henderson, for "Is Nothing Something to Worry About?: Absence & Intentionality."

And for the graduate award, we have a tie. The winners are:
Emily Prychitko, for "Dissociating the Cognitive Penetrability of Perception and the Theory-Ladenness of Observation."
Nick Shuster, for "Virtue, Discord, and Happiness: A Kantian account of the proper place for inner conflict and the possibility of happiness in the virtuous life."
