Obituary: Richard "Red" Watson, emeritus professor of philosophy, 88

Richard A. "Red" Watson, a longtime member of the Department of Philosophy, passed on September 18th, 2019.

Watson was a Descartes specialist (Cogito, Ergo Sum.  The Life of Rene Descartes, 2002). In addition to philosophy, he was a novelist and a highly skilled spelunker (The Longest Cave, with Roger W. Brucker, 1987). He also wrote The Philosopher's Diet. How to Lose Weight and Change the World, 1999, and Solipsism: The Ultimate Empirical Theory of Human Existence, 2016.
